I’ve killed a lot of time reading entire archives of comics. Once I catch up, I feel as if a part of my life is gone. Reading/waiting for updates just isn’t the same as hammering through the entire thing. I’m hoping this list will give you something to do when you should really be doing something else.

Sadly, the oldest family pet has passed on. 13 years of enjoyment, Cedar was able to outlive the rest of his litter mates and make all our lives that much brighter.

This is actually from a couple months back. I was in a restaurant called “The Turtle Club” having a work sponsored dinner when I found this poster in the restroom… I love lobster, don’t get me wrong. But this just didn’t seem right. Why are cooked (dead) lobsters serving food at a lobster fest? Thank god they are not serving lobsters themselves. Well you know, now that I think about it, that would have made this poster that much better!

I believe this is the first time I am posting something from my camera phone (Motorola KRZR K1). I’ve taken quite a few random photos from it and it is hit or miss with the quality. But every now and then I get somethign I feel I should be sharing.

This little gem comes from the bathroom of a friend. It is conviently hung right above the toilet. So if your a man, it’s all you get to stare at. After coming into contact several times, with this creepy little guy, all I could think of is “Banjo Monkey Wants Your Soul.”

You ever have that dream where you see it coming. Or you know it could come. But you just stay put anyways? Maybe you cant get out of the way, maybe it wasn’t your choice to begin with.

For me, its neither. I knew what I was getting into. I’ve been through it many times before. But this…this is just getting out of hand.

Are you a Hurrican or a Hurricant ?

Canon 50D

Well it’s official. Canon has announced the 50D, and for what it is, it’s looking rather impressive.

I’ve been holding out for the 5D for a while now. I really wanted to try out a full-frame camera. That and the MP count on my 20D was getting pathetic. I now have access to an Epson 7880 printer. And my older shots just werent producing on that printer.

Looking at the specs on this new 50D, I’d have to say I think I am going to pass on the full-frame and go with this one. Now I just have to wait till its released in October!

Along time ago I drew this up for a friend. It’s honeslty one of my first shots into character illustration. When I came up with it I joked around and made some other items for him. It wasn’t until recently that I was going through my old eps files that I pulled him back out and decided to brush him up and execute some of the styles for fun.

The hype was almost overwhelming. “Its going to be just like Charlie”, “The gulf water is 90 degrees!” “ZOMGWTFBBQ!!1!!1″.

All in all, I got a free day off of work, and a lot of rain.

Some of you might have already seen a few of my references here to a certain photographer. As it turns out I am now helping in the redesign of her website. Here is the landing page I designed while we finish out the rest of the site.

On Saturday the 6th of June, I had the amazing pleasure of being invited to help with a fashion shoot conducted by Sylvia Krivickova. She was once again shooting for the cover and featured article for Pulse Magazine.

I was kind of out of Drum n Bass (DnB) for a few years. It wasn’t until a year ago I fell headfirst back into it. I was listening to web casts of Fabio and Groove, Bailey and anything else I could get my hands on. It was then that I first herd “Blood Sugar.” It was continuously the number one on 1xrta’s DnB chart. While I wasn’t fully impressed with it, I did see they had taken it to a place I had yet to hear. I was really digging into nu:tone, High Contrast, Calyx and Teebee, and even getting on with TC’s live sets, Sub Focus’s “Timewarp“, Clipz and Hazard were smashing it…

Then I finally got my hands on Pendulum’s “In Silico”.

My work has requested that I come up with a professional set of emoticons for us to use in our software. Here is my first stab at a “professional” set. If I had the time, I would sit here and make all kinds of unprofessionally fun emoticons.

I’ve got a few of these piling up in my photo dump. So I am going to try to send them out over the next couple days. Enjoy.

The Hannya mask from Japanese theater, is said to be a woman who became so consumed with pure resentment and hate that she turned into a demon and grew horns. Nice, huh?

I purchased this mask in Kyoto when I hitch-hiked there while living in Tokyo.

She now lives on my wall.

I love how the light cascades a visible form. And how light shows hers eyes at night.

Kinda creepy, but I like it. She’s been with me ever since.

I was out on the beach shooting when I looked up and noticed what seemed like a boat about ready to take out the pier.  Instead they were buzzing the tower I guess?

I can only imagine how angry a few of the people were while getting sprayed by a bunch of rich people out on a sunset cruise.

You might have read about my condition, or not. But that’s besides the point, my foot is getting much better. . It’s been quite some time since the surgery and I must say at one point I wasn’t sure if the doctors got all the cystic tissue out. I was still feeling a small lump near my heal.

But! Now it’s been even longer and I am happy to report that the lump is almost completely gone and my tendon is starting to feel better as well.

The hardest part has been the overall pain in the tendon. Especially waking up in the mornings was difficult. I had to hobble around till my foot was stretched out. Also walking long distances was creating pain. They say foot injuries take forever to heel… hah. But yes, I am glad I did this while I was still somewhat young. I could see this being a real pain if I was much older.

70-200mm, f/2.8

It will be mine…

My friend Sylvia was gracious enough to let me borrow hers to see if it was something I would like. I was complaining that my current 20D was crap, but then realized that yeah, I’ve never owned some decent glass and didn’t know where to start. Looks like I started close to the top becasue 3 days later Ive shot over 1K images and quite a few blow me away. Looks like I will be holding on to my 20D for a little bit, but upgrading the glass insted. Thanks Sylvia!

The ferns I have rescued are stating to take hold. And I now have some wonderful chairs for my porch. Here’s a shot of a warm sunset.

The other night was a busy night for me. I was inspired to get all of the parts off of my floor and onto my bike since I had some free hours.

Wow.

J and I went a picked up a bike jack at Northern Tool this weekend. I had a few hours afterwards and decided to dive into the frame swap as much as I could. In 4 hours and 30 minutes I was able to remove the front end, detach the rear suspension, swap the frame, reattach the rear suspension and then reinstall the front end.

Ive got pics of the bike torn all the way down at the link below. But here are some pics of the current situation.
